If you would like a role (speaking or non-speaking) please let us know in advance. This is a great opportunity to participate in a outdoor ritual and everyone from all paths is welcome. PAGAN  PATHFINDERS.  Pagan Pathfinders aim to explore and develop the Pagan way of being by tapping those inner resources so that we may participate more fully in the ecstasy of the Cosmic Dance.

Founded by Jean Williams in 1975, the object was to combine the ancient methods of spiritual development with modern techniques of inner exploration used in Humanistic Psychology, within a broad eclectic Pagan framework. All those prepared to adventure into inner space, whether new to Paganism or experienced, can benefit. An interest in personal growth and transcendental experience is assumed. Pagan Pathfinders meet weekly on evenings (8-10pm) at a private house in North London. Sessions start in early October, January and April, and run for 10-12 weeks. Groups is small (12-15 people), friendly and informal. There is no charge, but members usually bring biscuits, fruit or other snacks to share.
Pagan Pathfinders place the emphasis on doing and experience rather than discussing or lecturing. Methods of exploration are drawn from a wide range of religious disciplines, both Western and Eastern and also from Humanistic Psychology and the Personal Growth Movement. Similarly, god-forms and archetypal images are employed from diverse Pagan pantheons, astrology, the Tarot and other sources. PP meetings are thus suitable for people who want to learn some of the basic skills common to most Pagan/Occult and meditation schools, without committing themselves to any one path.

Some of the techniques are: Deep Relaxation, Auto-Suggestion, Heightened Awareness,  Active Imagination,  Energy Raising and Empowerment of the True Will, Healing, Seasonal Celebrations,  Sharing Ideas and Techniques.

To attend, apply by post to:
Pagan Pathfinders, BM-OPAL, London WC1N 3XX  (pls enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope).

Pagan Network is a networking organisation set up to promote the acceptance and tolerance of Paganism as a faith system within the UK, and to provide a safe and informative social network both on- and off-line for Pagans in the UK. Formerly known as Wicca UK, this is a large and dynamic organisation, run by an elected committee of 3-4 people. Their on-line discussion forums now have over 5,000 members of which nearly 2,000 are active. There are over 14,000 threads with a total of 145,00 (approx.) posts!   Memberships fees range from £20 (£15 for Students. Various other options like Joint/Family are available).

As part of their  social networking aim, the Pagan Network runs social moots on a regular basis across the country, as well as occasional national events including Sabbat Parties, conventions and open rituals. All our events are open to Pagans of all ages (except those held in licensed premises), experience levels and paths, and we do our best to ensure newcomers feel welcome and comfortable.
In promoting acceptance and toleration of Paganism, they issue regular press statements on stories and articles relating to Wicca and Paganism in the UK press, work with many media outlets to ensure their articles are accurate as far as possible, and challenge negative stereotypes. They publish a range of booklets on Wicca, Witchcraft and Paganism, which are available to schools, employers and other groups who may be unfamiliar with Wicca and Wiccan beliefs.

Festivals, Networks & Communities.   These bodies organise networking and community events,  festivals, as well as provide a number of services.

Tribe of Avalon (formerly `Avalon in London’) is an open group, welcoming those of any path and at any level of experience, which meets to celebrate the energies of the ancient Goddesses of the British Isles and to learn more of their nature. Our work is based on the Wheel of Brigit-Ana, developed in Glastonbury, which continues to change and grow as we work with it and learn more about the Goddesses of our sacred land. The Wheel continues to change and grow as we work with it and is ever-evolving as we learn more about the Goddesses of our sacred land.

The group began at Samhain 2000 when some of the Priestesses of Avalon trained in Glastonbury but living in London at that time, decided that there should be a group holding ceremonies in London. Since then the group has become open to everyone and welcomes Pagans from any path and at any level of experience. It is a friendly group with a real community spirit so please contact me if you would like more information, or just come along to an event on the day.

We are currently holding Dark Moon rituals and a Goddess group monthly and celebrating each festival in the Wheel of the Year. We hold an annual Full Moon/ Avalon  camp in Epping Forest (usually on he bank holiday weekend of August).

“The Wheel of the Year celebrations are no longer always held on Sundays but have moved to the "proper" days. We will be celebrating the Solstices and Equinoxes as close to the actual dates as we can and we will now be celebrating the cross-quarters on their lunar dates (Samhain and Imbolc at Dark/New Moon and Beltane and Lammas at Full  Moon), which are more in tune with the energies of the Avalon Wheel.

Most of the events are at Stockwell studios, close to Stockwell tube station but give Jacqui a ring on 07711 515017 for further details, or e-mail her via: Avalon@pflondon.org
