“Practise of Witchcraft is primal, gritty and craft-centric. ”

Witchcraft in the Woods:

This is a 1-day (saturday) workshop of witchcraft in a natural outdoor environment! (August 2008- tbc).  Our Craft & Magic evening course (feb-april) and Wicca & wichcraft (sunday workshop) have been unique and well-received by those attended. There is a general desire for people to do these in a real woodland setting. So we are creating this special outdoor Witchcraft workshop.  No previous experience of Wicca, witchcraft or magic is necessary, as the course builds ground up from basic on-course experiences. The session will consist of introduction, group discussions and plenty of hands-on ritual works.

Witchcraft & Magic (advanced) evening course (5 weeks): October 2008. (date to be confirmed).

Tamesa London Circle (TLC) is a group that holds rituals & socials based on and around the river Thames. We also now facilitate evenings & weekend courses on Witchcraft & Magic. The next one will be a 5-week advance course in October. Topics covered will be Magic Circle & protection, Cord Magic, blood & bone magic (using animal bones), image/poppet magic & sex magic. This is suitable only for people with knowledge of Wicca & Witchcraft and those who have a regular and good magical discipline. There will be a pre-course social in late September. The course is facilitated by Mani, initiated High Priest of Wicca with over 10 years experience of private group and public magical & ritual workings.

Contact via hern3000@yahoo.co.uk or phone mobile 077689 41373 for details and registration forms. For Tamesa (Thames) based events, please contact us or see www.tamesa.info.

Further key topic areas include the initiatory tradition, creating sacred space and attuning to the sabbat cycle.

The next Wicca Study Group will be run at a Central London on Tuesday evenings over an 8 week period from 19:30 to 21:30, commencing 22nd April 2008.

Spaces are strictly limited. For further information and a registration please email info@wiccastudygroup.org or send SAE to BM Deosil, London, WC1N 3XX. (This course has already started. However, please contact WSG directly for any future courses. )

  • This term’s programme looks at the new Paganism, the contemporary revivals of witchcraft and Druidry, as well as Goddess spirituality and environmental concerns. Modern mythologies informing this resurgence are also noted. We will particularly focus upon:
  • The many continuities between spiritualities of the past and renewed interest in them today as reformulated for modern life.
  • The return of the Goddess – the role of spiritual feminism.
  • The new Paganism and the varieties of witchcraft emerging over the past fifty years including the Wicca, traditional witchcraft and hedge witchcraft. Emergent Druidry, and especially it links to sites like Stonehenge, will be explored.
  • Mystical Ecology – ecopaganism and the rebirth of the tribe.
  • These trends will be located in the wider socio-cultural context of modern society such as: – the personal quest for a coherent identity, the growing need for roots and the search for meaningful community.

Topics are critically evaluated throughout using the tools of the social sciences. The course is illustrated with slides, videos, cassette recordings and handouts and delivered via lecture and discussion format. Field trips to an ancient site or to a traditional festival (e.g. Helston Furry Dance) may also be possible.
