The Nudity of Witches and Albrecht Durer

Tonight scholar John Callow takes an illustrated look at the nakedness of witches as portrayed in early modern art, focussing particularly on the work of Albrecht Durer, whose emblematic engraving of three witches symbolises so much for modern pagan witchcraft. Deconstructing and exploring ritual nudity and what it meant both then and now, John raises questions about the body and its ecstasies, its travels across time, space and magic.
